POD presents a brand new season of risqué, razor sharp comedy showcasing a serious line-up of debauched entertainment - Pod Cast Comedy. The hosts of Electric Picnic are launching this eclectic comedy extravaganza across the October Bank Holiday Weekend in some of Dublin's most stylish venues. Headlining is Roseanne Barr making her stand- up debut in Ireland. The US Domestic Goddess opens the Weekend at Tripod on Friday 24th October. After 9 years, 224 episodes, 1 Golden Globe award, 4 Emmys, and countless other accolades, she single-handedly re-landscaped the medium of situational comedy forever. Also, Perrier Award Winner Sean Hughes will headline at Tripod on Sat 25th October promising a no-holds-barred, quick-fire wit performance. There will also be performances by the likes of Jim Jeffries, Glenn Wool, Steve Hughes and Matt Kirshen. Expect fresh, brash and hard-hitting material from the Edinburgh Festival as the hot tickets of 2008 prepare to storm Dublin and it promises to be an action packed weekend showcasing brand new material at affordable prices. The Pod Cast Comedy Festival runs from Friday 24th to Monday 27th October in Tripod, Crawdaddy and The Button Factory.
