The exhibition showcases a selection of student work, which demonstrates the creativity of our young people today. The work includes experimentation with colour and form and the exploration of branding and communication techniques.

These students are taking part in the Adult Better Learning and Education (ABLE) programme run by the Tolka Area Partnership for 18-21 year olds. The ABLE programme aims to support early school leavers and to increase participation in Further Education.

Along with studying Maths, Communications, IT Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Health Related Fitness and Young People in Society, the students express their creativity through both the Art and Graphic Design module in the programme.

The ABLE 18-21 programme, which is currently running in both Finglas and Cabra, won the National Projects in Progress STAR Award at the AONTAS launch of the 2011 Adult Learner’s Festival.

The purpose of the STAR Awards Ceremony is about Showcasing Teamwork and Awarding Recognition and acknowledging the work undertaken by adult learning projects throughout the country and celebrating the positive contribution that these projects make to our society, our economy and our local communities.

If you are interested in taking part in the programme, or would like to refer a young person for the next programme, please contact Fiona Gwozdz or Fergus Craddock at (01) 836 1666 for an initial appointment to find out more about what the programme can offer.

The ABLE 18-21 programme is made possible through the support of the Labour Market Activation Fund administered through the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
