The Bark in the Park will be a fun day out for pets and humans alike with lots of entertainment before and after the sponsored walk! There’s a raffle, music and goody bags with human and doggy treats (sponsored by Maxi Zoo and Tayto), as well as much-coveted awards for the dog with the Best Bark, Shiniest Coat, Happiest Smile and Waggiest Tail!

The 3KM walk will start and finish off at the junction of Chesterfield Avenue and Ordnance Survey Road, near the Castleknock Gate entrance.  Dogs especially like the atmosphere at the events with their owners alongside other well behaved dogs and walkers!  Participants are invited to arrive early, and no later than 2.30PM.

The event will raise much needed funds for the improvement of veterinary facilities at The Irish Blue Cross clinics, where thousands of needy pets attend each year for a range of low cost veterinary care.  Already this summer they have raised over €10,600 from three Bark In The Park events, held in fabulous sunshine at St. Anne’s, Marlay and Tymon Park.

In 2012, The Irish Blue Cross provided over 27,000 treatments, surgeries, tests, etc at its mobiles and Inchicore clinic.  Veterinary facilities are in constant need of upgrade and repair due to a continued heavy demand for services.
