José Navas returns to Dublin Dance Festival following his memorable performance of Miniatures, at DDF 2009, with his newest work. Personae is a series of solos that will explore the delicious encounter of dance and music in a simple setting.

Revealing various aspects of character, Personae will invite the viewer on a journey through the soul accompanied by a varied selection of music, including Vivaldi, Patti Smith and Ravel.

Based in Québec since 1991, Venezuelan-born choreographer José Navas founded Compagnie Flak in 1995. Creating more than thirty works since then, his work has been presented in forty countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Navas was appointed Choreographer in Residence for Ballet BC in Vancouver, Canada in summer 2010.

“He is an engaging performer who wins the audience over not just through his incredible, understated technique, but also through the honest charm with which he lays out his life.” (Michael Seaver, The Irish Times)
