US actor and comedian Patton Oswalt will perform two headlining gigs at the Vodafone Comedy Carnival, taking place in Galway during the last week of October. Oswalt began his stand-up career in 1996, selling out comedy clubs and filming his own stand-up specials for HBO and Comedy Central. He has also starred in a huge variety of TV shows including Justified, Parks and Recreation, Community, BoJack Horseman and Agents of SHIELD. 

Several other acts were confirmed during the first wave of announcements. Jon Richardson, who can most often be seen as a team captain on 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown, will be travelling over from the UK along with Reginald D. Hunter and Katy Brand, who will be performing her Edinburgh festival show 'I Was A Teenage Christian'. The Irish comedy scene will be represented by Al Porter and Dermot and Dave, performing as part of their 'Ahh Sure Lookit' tour.
