Oméith le Chéile is a 3 day community festival celebrating the culture and heritage of Omeath and its People . The event is delivered in partnership with Omeath Historical Society, Ciorcal Comhra Oméith, Omeath District Development

This event is an opportunity to celebrate the Omeath Diaspora.

The dispersion of its people will be honoured and remembered by a genealogy record service to trace family connections, a pictorial history library of people and their community, the opportunity to pay respect to the deceased in prayer at a special gathering cemetery Sunday event and an opportunity to visit those special places so fondly spoken of or recalled as HOME by the diasporas by participating on guided walks of the village and surrounding area.

The dispersion of the language and culture of Omeath that has been carried worldwide with emigration will be returned and renewed. The Gaelic cant unique to Omeath since the establishment of the first Irish College in August 1912 will be taught and learned in the summer school and dispersed again by the new FADGIES. And the Omeath Historical Society will take you back in time to visit the culture and history of the village in their cultural event
