What started as a fake name and small booking at a friend's birthday party has spiralled into an international DJ career for Claude VonStroke. Now one of the most in demand DJs, producers and remixers, Claude is back at Nightflight this February. Only slightly less extravagant than his moniker of Claude VonStroke comes his real name - Barclay Crenshaw. Barclay creates house music that's bottom-heavy and constantly surprising with elements of ghetto-tech and Baltimore styles. His early tracks like "The Whistler", "Chimps" and "Who's afraid of Detroit" stood out from the house and techno crowd. Originally hailing from Detroit, Barclay re-located to San Francisco soon began a record label called "dirtybird" and a production career under the name Claude VonStroke. He soon went on to release his full-length debut album, "Beware of the Bird" to outstanding reviews, further establishing him as an original talent in the underground. Since then, he has recorded over 25 remixes for a range of commercial and underground artists from Indy rock group "The Rapture" to Detroit techno legend Kevin Saunderson. Catch Claude VonStroke at The Button Factory this Friday February 13th. Tickets are priced 15. Doors 11pm
