The National Songwriters Contest will take place in the idyllic, picturesque town of Moville and the neighbouring fishing village of Greencastle which are on the salmon fishing Lough Foyle.

This contest will coincide with Ireland's only annual festival of Beatles music. The main judge will be Tony Bramwell, who was a childhood friend of George Harrison and Paul McCartney and went on to be the Beatles Road Manager throughout their careers. More importantly, he was their talent scout and joint head of Apple Records when he discovered James Taylor and later Eva Cassidy. He went on to become head of Polydor Records and was responsible for the music for Grease and Saturday Night Fever.

He was also in charge of the music for some of the Bond films and got Paul McCartney, his close friend, to do Live and Let Die. Now, Tony has raised the finance for his own record label and is looking for talent. He has already signed one act who performed at last year's inaugural National Songwriters Contest and he is aiming to make them famous worldwide. Contestants will play a mixture of their own songs with Beatles songs as it is during the BeatlesFest and as Tony is worldwide ambassador for The Beatles. The songwriters can be bands, duos or solo acts. Get in touch with us to register your act beforehand. Moville is 18 miles along the lough from Derry and the nearest airport City of Derry.
