The Loughcrew Summer Solstice Festival is a unique festival, which celebrates the Summer solstice, set within amazing surroundings that are overlooked by the Loughcrew hills and unspoiled Loughcrew Cairns. It's the perfect location to unwind and begin the summer festivities.
Events include: storytelling (involving the history of Loughcrew); mystery events in local pubs; a family sandcastle building competition; children's music classes; line dancing; a country and western day at St. Oliver Plunkett's Church with music, dance and food; country and western themed nights in surrounding pubs in Oldcastle; and theatrical plays/opera. There will also be a live feed set up in various locations so you can can keep an eye on the action as it takes place.
