There's nothing more summery than an extravaganza featuring music, art, food and the ultimate in summer shows, street performance and Laya Healthcare's City Spectacular July 11 - 27 (formerly the Laya Healthcare Street Performance World Championship) is all that and more. Parks in Cork and Dublin will be transformed into creative hubspots with live music, walking tours, art, food and of course, world class street performers and Dublin will be a-buzz with activities for a full three weeks for what's bound to be the highlight of the summer holiday season.

On the street act front, 13 international street acts including 6 time Guinness World Record Holding Sword Swallower Aerial Manx, YouTube loop artist sensation Mr.Woodnote, strait-jacket escapologist Rob Roy Collins and last year’s world champions Cork acrobatic duo Lords of Strut are all set to entertain thousands of happy folk.

Joining them for the music side of things will be an incredible and diverse music line-up from new York-style brass band The Booka Brass Band to indie darlings The Young Folk to Interskalactic, a 10 piece ska and reggae band.

What's more, there will be a food village and petting zoo, the truly unique Kid’s Court with Ray D’Arcy, the retro Today FM Irish Summer area, The ESB Spark Your imagination area and the Outdoor Living Room - your home away from home.

The spectacular festivals will be taking place in Dublin’s Merrion Square from July 11 -13, Cork’s Fitzgerald Park on July 19 and 20 but even more festivities will be happening throughout Dublin city from July 11 - 27. The three week collaborative programme is chock-full of incredible events; expect the likes of concerts, a street art walking tour, art exhibitions, a vintage gaming night and a really cool sounding Midsummer Night’s Dream themed banquet dinner.

We all know by now that there's nowhere better to be in summer than in Ireland and Laya Healthcare's City Spectacular cements that fact. See the full programme of events at cityspectacular.com.
