Since 1987 the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Kiltimagh has evolved to become a week-long celebration of Irish tradition and culture. This year's programme of events has been devised to awaken a sense of wonderment and to ignite a spark of carnival fever, Kiltimagh style. Many of the events taking place over the week will showcase and focus on Irish traditions, history, heritage, culture and genealogy.

In 2013, Kiltimagh welcomes back special guests, the unique and colourful Quaker City String Band from Philadelphia. For over two decades they have brought their own brand of excitement with their atmospheric music and vibrant colourful costumes. This year, as part of 'The Gathering', the community is encouraged to reach out and invite family and friends who have left the area or country to come home and celebrate. It is envisioned that this year's St. Patrick's Week Festival is a homecoming, a community reunion that offers a hearty welcome to all. Last year's parade was regarded as one of the most colourful and vibrant parades in the West of Ireland. 2013's parade will be no different as Kiltimagh highlights what is great about the town, community and county.

All groups, clubs, businesses, individuals and families both from Kiltimagh and outside, are invited to come and bask in the weeklong celebration of all that is Irish with good 'craic agus ceoil'.
