K-Fest is a music and arts festival located in the centre of one of Ireland's most scenic and welcoming areas.
Music and art have always been great sources of inspiration and truthfulness and K-Fest 2014 will be an opportunity to consider the relationship that exists between these disciplines stimulating both fields to question, consider, process and respond.
K-Fest 2014 will again see a return to the use of the town's vacant buildings as pop up galleries exhibiting work of local national and international artists. This year the public will be given an intimate insight into the artistic process when artists will be asked to create site specific work constructed over the duration of the festival. There will be zones within the town designated for public sculptures with an emphasis on biodiversity.
2014 will see developments being brought to the programme for theatre, poetry and prose and also more youth activities and daytime street art, music and entertainment. K-Fest will continue pushing the boundaries by showcasing the very best of contemporary visual art and up-and-coming music from many genres.
While Killorglin is the geographical heart of Kerry, with Tralee and Listowel to the North, Dingle to the West, Cahirciveen to the South and Killarney to the East, K-Fest aims to also make Killorglin the artistic heart of Kerry for what is new and bold, and also trusted and old.
