Invasion is Ireland’s largest ever celebration of science fiction with original actors, costume characters and fan-built props and backdrops. Invasion Dublin and the Emerald Garrison are thrilled to announce that a star studded line-up of actors from the original Star Wars movies will attend the inaugural Invasion Dublin at CityWest. We are honoured to have a contingent of five travelling for this event, and we anticipate a huge response from Star Wars fans from Ireland and internationally. This event attracted 14,000 visitors in Belfast in 2009 and now with an even bigger venue, a third day open to the public and a massively increased advertising budget, it is guaranteed to be a wow.
Visitors to Invasion Dublin will not believe their eyes when they pass through the portal and are literally transported to a different dimension, a different time and a galaxy far, far away…
Members of the world renowned Emerald Garrison will blow people's minds when they unveil for the first time ever, a life-size recreation of the Y-Wing fighter, which together with other fan-built sets and props will provide a plethora of photo opportunities for visitors.
The “Invasion” brand in sci-fi conventions is so strong that five actors from the original Star Wars movies, including those that played the feared Darth Vader and the quirky R2D2 have committed to attend Invasion Dublin this Easter.
The visitor experience will include a “meet and greet” with the actors and getting up close to costume characters perform re-enactments and drills that many have dreamed of.
