The Indian Flim Festival of Ireland is an annual event held each June. The only Indian film festival across Ireland. It is founded on the back of over twenty years of independent film distribution and exhibition organisation under the rubric of Bollywood Ireland Ltd. A company owned by Siraj Zaidi, the Festival Director. Siraj introduced a hugely popular Indian cinema slot over ten years ago in the Irish Film Institute.
He decided to start a dedicated festival two years ago to make Indian films more mainstream and to introduce people in Ireland to the global appeal and popularity of Indian cinema. The festival also aims to create an environment of collaboration between Irish and Indian film makers and to enable the making of Indian-Irish films.
