Expect a bedlam of young people and a medley of events for the 2nd annual Hullaballoo Children's Arts Festival which will take place this 28th to 31st October in various venues around Birr, Co Offaly. If last year's success is anything to go by, Birr will a vibrant hub of Halloween inspired workshops and events for children aged 0 to 12 and plenty for the parents to enjoy too! The festival takes place during the October midterm break. From making scary feet to recycling monsters, there are around 35 different workshops being held which will cater for over 500 children. Other workshops include music, dance, storytelling, percussion, photography, creative writing, book clubs, cartoons and circus skills. There are also performances designed for young vivid imaginations and the young at heart, Monkeyshine Theatre Company return with 'the Grandmother', there is also the Seashore Show and Storybear from Puca Puppets and the old family favourite film Casper. Workshops are expected to book out quickly so parents are advised to contact the theatre soon.
