Ireland's annual international shanty and seafaring festival enters its fourth year, promising as much fun as always. In the Gathering year the theme is 'home from the sea' where families of Rosses Point's seafarers are encouraged to join in.

International shanty groups attend from the UK, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Finland, Norway and, of course, from Ireland. The core of the festival revolves around the singing of shanties and sea songs, art, poetry, boat races, various displays, etc. The festival promotes the voluntary work of the R.N.L.I and celebrates its dedication to saving lives at sea. Performances are free in the local village pubs and there are two fundraising concerts in aid of the R.N.L.I.

If you fancy joining in, there are lots of opportunities for singers to perform with us in open mic sessions. We look forward to welcoming you to Rosses Point, Sligo's maritime village.
