The Guitar Festival of Ireland is returning to Dublin for its 10th anniversary from the 2nd - 5th May 2013.

This year’s programme includes a special festival commission, with the support of the French Embassy in Ireland - for 16 guitars from the multifaceted guitarist/composer Roland Dyens, which will be performed by a group of energetic young musicians directed by Marion Hyland from the Royal Irish Academy of Music and aptly named GuitaRIAM.

Roland Dyens will also open the festival with his special brand of guitar performance on the 2nd May. Paraguayan guitarist Berta Rojas - who was part of the very first festival programme in 2004 – also returns for a very special performance.

Other highlights include: Blood, Water and Lunch with Rodrigo - a special song cycle written by esteemed Irish composer Ian Wilson; Feeley-Burley Guitar Duo in Marlay Park House; an all Italian night in NCH; and Tango & Friends - a fascinating vocal/instrumental performance mixed with choreographies of two tango dancers in a night of passion.
