Ireland's biggest Jazz festival returns once again to Cork from the 24th to 27th of October. The festival has been held in late October every year since 1978 and has previously showcased the musical talents of the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Buddy Rich, Dave Brubeck, Chick Correa and many more. Over 1000 artists from more than 25 countries, including the return of Chick Correa as well as The Yellowjackets. As well as savouring the sounds of jazz, take a wander around Cork itself, which dates back to the sixth century and offers a wide range of interesting architectural and historical sights. There is the stunning natural harbour on the banks of the River Lee with the skyline of spires and steep medieval streets below with lively 21st-century shops, restaurants and bars to cater for all the festival visitors.
