The Guinness Jazz Festival is Ireland's biggest jazz event and attracts musicians and music fans alike to the city each year. The event, which has been held annually since 1978, will be take place between Friday the 24th and Monday the 27th of October and promises to be one of the biggest ever. The Cork Jazz Festival is celebrating in association with Guinness with hundreds of musicians from all over the world playing at a host of venues throughout the city, along with a host Fringe events. Around 40,000 music fans from around the world are expected in Cork for the Jazz Festival that feature some of the biggest names in Jazz. Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, and Dave Brubeck are amoung those that have headlined the Cork Jazz Festival in the past, while this year  Imelda May, Jake Clemons, Michel Legrande, The Frank and Walters, and Diane Reeves are just some of the names playing the festival.
