The unique Galway Garden Festival held in Claregalway Castle attracts speakers and visitors from France, Scotland, England & Ireland - words cannot capture this special event! Is it the artisan food, the jazz, the opera singing, the range of garden speakers - celebrated designers, historians, garden writers; or is it the fun enjoyed by both family and friends, young and old, the garden bookshop, the gathering of friends from far and near, that continues to attract ever increasing numbers?

Claregalway Castle on the Clare River is a fine location for this very happy weekend. Whether travelling alone, as a family, as visitor or resident Irish person, all would agree with garden designer Diarmuid Gavin that this event is 'one of the best in these islands' and also with celebrated gardener Helen Dillon that this is 'truly a festival'.

Leave the car at home and take the courtesy bus but make sure to arrive early so you can browse the wonderful range of stands - from the quirky to the specialist and allow yourself time to sit, savour, observe, listen and enjoy - you will be glad to have made the trip. Remember to regularly check the website so you won't miss any of the visiting speakers - book your tickets in advance and you will get the best from this weekend.
