Starring Mary McEvoy as Della Dolan, Fruitcake starts off as a cookery demonstration but develops into an account of one woman’s life with each ingredient reminding her of past memories and decisions made which ultimately change the course of her life. Even though some lessons came late in life and were hard won she now lives a fruitful, productive life because of these. Beat the recession depression with this sometimes funny, sometimes poignant play for everyone. Fruitcake was commissioned by Meath County Council Arts Office for Bealtaine 2010 and Noggin Theatre Company are delighted to bring it back after a triumphant national tour including 25 venues in 11 counties for Bealtaine 2011.
