Fresh Film Festival, Ireland's national film festival for young people aged 7 – 18 years, celebrates its 18th birthday in 2014. The festival focuses on two strands: the young person as filmmaker and the young audience.
The festival programme includes specialist workshops, an international programme and screenings of classic, foreign language and independent films featuring a young person as the protagonist. Study guides are available with some feature screenings to support film appreciation in the classroom.
Ireland's Young Filmmaker of the Year Awards are the highlight of Fresh's programme and celebrate the work of young filmmakers. The competition is open to all young filmmakers aged 7 to 12 (Junior) and 13 to 18 (Senior). For further information and booking see website.
