Irish Coffee, one of the world's most famous drinks, was invented in Foynes Airport by Chef Joe Sheirdan in 1943.The Foynes Irish Coffee Festival celebrates this event with three days of wonderful open air free entertainment to suit all ages.

A carnival atmosphere permeates the village and everyone takes part in some event from the hilarious and extraordinary floats to the children's forest party or maybe just sits on the bank of the River Shannon to watch the Regatta or later that night a spectacular fireworks display.

One can always take part in an Irish Coffee Making class and learn the true way to make that perfect Irish Coffee. Also enjoy a food & craft fair, pet farm, historical walks and the Powers Irish Coffee Making Championship. Lots to do for all ages from morning till late.
