As the year of the Gathering draws to a close there are still plenty of festivals to keep you busy before the year is out. This week we have some great festivals taking place all over the country.

First up is the Listowel Food Fair which takes place from the 21st - 24th November. Listowel, Co. Kerry is the home of literary genius, sporting prowess and great food as celebrated at the annual Listowel Food Fair. This tasty and fun event leads the way when raising awareness of the range and quality of Kerry and Irish food products through a variety of seminars, tastings and cookery demonstrations. Highlights for 2013 will include a Cookery Demonstration evening with celebrated chef Simon Regan on the opening night, the popular Farming Seminar on the Friday 22nd, and a weekend full of activities including workshops for all ages and levels, cookery competitions and the craft fair. Next stop is Cashel, Tipperary for the annual Cashel Arts Festival which takes places from the 8th - 17th November. Cashel Arts Festival is a multi-disciplinary arts festival which aims to provide people with an opportunity for fun and entertainment during the shorter days and longer nights of November. It includes music, song, dance, art, film, theatre and literature. The voluntary organising committee place a strong emphasis on participation in the arts when choosing the programme of events. A wide variety of workshops for both children and adults makes up about half of the festival programme. So whether you want to sit back and be entertained or get 'stuck in' and learn something new, this festival will have something for you. Many events are free and some have special offers or concessions. The festival has strong links to the community it serves and artists involved in the festival are usually based in Ireland.

For all those bookworms of you head to Dublin this month for the Dublin Book Festival which takes place in Smock Alley from the 14th - 17th November. The Dublin Book Festival is one of Ireland's most successful and vibrant book festivals, running since June 2005. The annual public Festival showcases, supports and develops Irish Publishing by programming, publicising and selling Irish published books, their authors, editors and contributors all in an entertaining, festive, friendly and accessible environment that reflects the creativity and personality of the Irish Publishing sector and its authors.

Ever wanted to run away to the circus. Well, now you can as The National Circus Festival comes to Tralee. The National Circus festival is Ireland's circus festival and one of the most exciting, emerging festivals in Ireland. The festival has lit up Tralee every November in a explosion of theatre, clown, aerial, fun, laughter, skill and absurdity.This years highlight is a crane performance 40m up in the air by respected Irish aerial dance company Fidget feet. Other highlights include new material from world champions and festival favourites Lords of Strut, Barcelona-based MuMusic bring us their wonderful music and circus show 'Merci Bien,' and world-class juggling from Sweden’s Patrik Elmnert. 'Circus Sideshow,' a bespoke festival club, a weekend programme of circus arts workshops and master-classes from visiting artists.

And for all those rubgy fans Ireland will take on Australia in the Rugby League World Cup in Thomond Park Limerick on November 9th.
