It’s time for you Monday fix of festival highlights. This week we’ve got The National Ploughing Championships, New Ross Piano Festival, Storytelling Southeast, The Annual Patrick Kavanagh Weekend and Limerick Jazz Festival.

The National Ploughing Championships: 24th - 26th September 2013
The National Ploughing Championships (N.P.A) each year attracts an average of over 180,000 visitors over 3 days, 1,100 exhibition stands and covers a staggering 700 acres. Alongside the farming community the ploughing championships attract thousands of people from a non-farming background. The event is divided into two main aspects, a tented trade village and a machinery and livestock exhibition spread over 80 acres. Read more.

New Ross Piano Festival: 26th - 29th September
The 8th New Ross Piano Festival takes place, as always, on the last weekend of September and promises to be as enjoyable as the past seven. The Artistic Director, Finghin Collins has chosen exciting pianists, and the festival has a packed programme of concerts, starting on Thursday evening with young students, continuing with three main classical concerts where three internationally known pianists share the platform, two mid-day solo recitals, a masterclass, a late-night, slightly avant-garde concert and an early freebie popular one on one evening. Storytelling Southeast: 26th - 30th September 2013
Storytelling Southeast is a multi-disciplinary arts festival for Dungarvan and West Waterford. Now preparing for its 2nd year after a successful inaugural edition. 3,500 people attended one or more of the 45 events over the 5 festival days. The festival's aim is to explore how we tell stories today. look at the narrative across all forms of artistic expression. From traditional storytelling and heritage to poetry and play, from film to the visual arts, contemporary writing and music. Read more.

Annual Patrick Kavanagh Weekend: 27th - 29th September 2013
The 2013 Kavanagh Weekend promises to be one of the most interesting and thought provoking yet, featuring an array of literary talent, musical performances, drama, storytelling and of course the annual poetry award. It is hoped visitors will be stimulated and energised through debate and participation and the weekend is a great opportunity to make new friends. Events take place in the Patrick Kavanagh Centre which is dedicated to Ireland's best loved poet and is situated in the picturesque and tranquil village of Inniskeen located among the Monaghan drumlins. Limerick Jazz Festival: 27th - 29th September 2013
Limerick Jazz Festival is delighted to announce its 2nd International Jazz Festival during September 2013. It will feature artists from the US, UK, national and local and promises to be every bit as good as the first one. Read more.
