East Cork Early Music Festival is here again, ready to start a fresh new decade. The festival, now in its 11th year has brought exceptional Early Music performers to Cork over the last ten years, while providing opportunities for local players in the form of ‘rising star’ concerts, school workshops and master classes. East Cork Early Music has consistently presented some of the most memorable concerts in the Irish concert diary.

This year’s festival, however, aims to raise the profile and standard of ‘historically informed performance’ in Ireland in a major way. Lead by the new Artistic Director, Finnish/Corkonian Baroque violinist Marja Gaynor, ECEMF 2013 aspires to be a truly inspiring event, involving a record number of Irish-born and Irish-based musicians and providing a platform not just for listening, learning and performance but also for collaboration and interaction.
