The 31st Dunlavin Festival of Arts is a family festival with arts, crafts, music, set dancing, street entertainment, drama, pony show, dog show, children's parade, workshops, short story competition, children's art and cookery competitions. In 2013, for The Gathering, the festival intends to bring give a postcard for every family in the locality to write and invite some family or friend home for the festival. Various locations will be used throughout the town, all within walking distance. A ball is being organised this year to entertain and welcome people home from abroad. So many young people have left to find work abroad; the committee will be focusing on welcoming them home for this year's festival.
