This exhibition of recent work by Susan Tiger, called "Drawing Thoughts", is a collection of observational works on paper and drafting vellum, made with acrylic paint and water-soluble graphite, and are on display at the Roscommon Art Centre. These are minimal and reflective pieces which bear out the artist's natural response to her surroundings. "I draw from life" is the artist's simple statement of approach and intent which suggests that the artist is both nourished by and responsive to the life around her. Susan Tiger studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, PA, U.S.A. Her work has been shown in the Drawing Center, New York (2001 and 2002), with Galerie Paul Andriesse, Amsterdam (2000 and 2005), and with Gallery Joe, Philadelphia (2002, 2006, 2008). She has also been selected for a number of group exhibitions in the U.S. as well as in Dublin and Cape Town, South Africa. She lives and works in County Mayo. The exhibition runs until 11th October at the Roscommon Arts Centre.
