Trinity College Dublin - the country's most prestigious educational institution - is opening its doors next week for their annual Trinity Week. A series of events including talks, guided walks, musical performances, film screenings and even Tai Chi in the Front Square will run from Monday, 7th -  Friday, 11th April and most are free and open to the public.

Reflecting Trinity's top-class academic reputation, highlights of the week are lectures and symposia. Renowned cognitive researcher Nancy Etcoff will discuss the ways we try to achieve and enhance happiness and its surprising effect on our bodies with her talk Let us smile each chance we get on Thursday, April 10th.

Keeping with the happiness theme, on Wednesday, April 9th an academic symposium on the Science of Happiness will feature talks on the science behind mindfulness, creating balance, mental health and how a person’s smile affects social interactions and how other people perceive them. A second interesting symposium on Healthy Happy Ageing will be held on Thursday, April 10th.

It looks to be an intriguing and highly informative (and dare we say it fun!) week of events and activities and it's the perfect chance to be a part of Trinity without having to enroll! Take a look here for the full week's programme.
