Opera in the Open present a new version of ‘Der Vampyre’ by Marschner in the beautiful surrounds of St Anne’s Park, Clontarf. – Stoker’s birthplace. The opera tells the tale of Lord Ruthven (a vampire) who is promised a year more of life if, within a day, he can find 3 brides about to wed and the ravage them and turn them to the dark side. If not he will be pulled back into the eternal abyss. It will remain to be seen if those who know Ruthven will keep secret about his dark plans.
