Boxing night festivities at Shine have always been a highlight of the Belfast dance music calendar and this one is no exception, with a great combination of stars of techno, old and new. Headlining is Dave Clarke, affectionately known as 'The Baron' of techno due to his godfather like reputation amongst fans, having contributed so much to the scene over the past 20 years. Support comes from Alexi Delano who is making his first appearance in Northern Ireland despite having been DJ and releasing records on such influential labels such as Richie Hawtins Plus 8, Pokerflat and F-Comm. Easily one of the best producers to surface in 2008 has been in the form of Hamburg's Stimming. He burst onto the scene with his 'Una Pena' track which was rumoured to be an Ibizian DJ's secret weapon and a favourite with the DC10 dance floor. Expect a storming live set full of his own productions and remixes alongside Belfast's Jet Project who are almost certain propel themselves into the limelight in 2009 with a album release due for release on techno superlabel 'Soma'.
