The College of Dance Twenty-Third annual showcase Dance 2013 (Dedicated to the Memory of the Late John Regan) takes place at the O’Reilly Theatre, Belvedere College, July 5th and 6th with a preview on 4th July at 8pm. Dance 2013 offers the opportunity to see Ireland’s best young dancers perform in a wide variety of styles, including Classical Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary Dance, Tap and Singing. This is a high quality, entertaining, professionally staged production.
The programme showcases exciting original works of choreography especially created for the students by the faculty. These include; a unique contemporary work for the entire cast, an exciting musical theatre spectacular, a creative tap piece, a specially commissioned classical ballet and a major choral item.
Founded in 1990, The College of Dance is now recognised as Ireland’s premier dance college providing full-time, foundation level, professional dance training. Its graduates have gone on to study, and win scholarships, to some of the most internationally prestigious conservatoires for dance and theatre studies and can be found working in these fields worldwide.
The College’s two-year course provides an intensive and stimulating education in all aspects of dance studies required by those aiming to pursue a career as a professional dancer as well as an environment in which each student’s talent is nurtured and guided by the faculty, all of whom are experienced working professional dancers and/or choreographers. Entrance is by audition only and only the most talented and committed are accepted.
