Culture Night will take place on Friday September 24th 2010, a night of entertainment, discovery and adventure in Dublin and across 20 towns, cities and counties in Ireland. Arts and cultural organisations open their doors until late with hundreds of free events, tours, talks and performances for you, your family and friends to enjoy. This is the biggest Culture Night to date and it is expected that over half a million people nationwide will explore and engage with culture on September 24th.

The theme of this year’s Culture Night is ‘What Will You See?’ and there is plenty to choose from! The participating regions, Dublin, Galway City, Galway County - Oughterard, Cork, Limerick, Waterford, Wexford, Sligo, Mayo, Wicklow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Westmeath, Letterkenny, Kerry, Carlow, Leitrim, Roscommon, and The Gaeltacht regions, will be transformed into cultural playgrounds with culture in all its forms including painting, poetry, dance, opera, traditional music, architecture, history, theatre and more, accessible to people of all ages.

For the first time, the Gaeltacht regions will also host their own Culture Night, marking a great step in bringing culture closer to people and moving towards Temple Bar Cultural Trusts vision of an all-Ireland Culture Night. Grandparents, grandchildren, families and people of all backgrounds will experience Culture Night –bringing together a very unique and diverse audience who all share a desireto explore the wealth of culture on their doorsteps.
