2014 is the 90th Anniversary of the Cork Shakespearean Company and so, to celebrate this milestone in our history; they will be attempting something never tried before anywhere in the world by performing a rehearsed reading of the Complete Works of William Shakespeare, including his poems and sonnets, over a 12 hour period in 12 different venues throughout Cork city.

With Shakespeare's 450th birthday, the 398th anniversary of his death, and the Cork World Book Festival falling on April 23rd, this felt like the most natural day to pick.

There will be 12 venues involved with at least 6 readers per venue, covering 38 plays, 154 sonnets and 4 narrative poems from 10:00am - 10:00pm. Venues include Blackpool Library, Camden Palace Hotel, Cork City Library, Cork Arts Theatre, Eason's Hill Community Centre, the Firkin Crane, the Granary Theatre, the Kino, Cork Opera House, Cork School of Music, Sample Studios and Cork Unitarian Church.

Free entry to all venues.
