Design POP festival in Cork city have announced the homegrown food and design talent for this year's festival.

Ireland’s first food and design festival, Design POP, will be taking place from May 17th to 19th across Cork city. The festival joins six designers with six food producers to create bespoke installations that will pop up all across the city. The aim is to create a free food and design trail for all.

The 12 designers and food enthusiasts are Cork printmaker and visual artist, Shane O’Driscoll and plant-based food company Banana Melon Kitchen; Irish graphic designer Conor Merriman and Cork’s favourite coffee spot SOMA; Australian born Luke Hickson from Cork agency is teaming up with vegan and healthy options specialists, My Goodness.

Outdoor international artist Alex Pentek is collaborating with cake experts Applebee Bakes; Corkonian Alan Macilwraith from JCA Architects will create a structure with Cork-renowned Good Day Deli; and a group of creatives from Fíor Studios will join forces with All Full Up, who make organic hand-pressed nut milks.

Joining all of these amazing designers and food producers will be a full schedule of workshops, speakers, and exhibitions happening in locations across Cork city. Check out the Design POP website (here) for full details on this exciting, new festival.
