The idea for the festival has grown from a humble conversation between friends on holding an event in the summer to creating a food and music festival which will compliment the peak summer trade in the town.
The ethos of the festival is to showcase everything Clonakilty has to offer, from restaurants, food suppliers, performers, musicians as well as the town itself. The name 'Clonakilty Waterfront Festival' is inspired by Clonakilty's scenic coastal location in West Cork along with the name of the festival grounds.
The positioning of the festival grounds is centrally located in town on the old GAA grounds on the bypass road. This ensures ease of access from all the fantastic pubs and restaurants in Clonakilty to the wonderful line up of music talent to be showcased in the festival dome.
