The Inaugural Carlsberg Halloween Howls Comedy Festival in Portlaoise, Co Laois this October bank holiday weekend. Halloween Howls will take place over 4 days, in 7 venues, with 23 live shows and will welcome over 35 top comedians to Portlaoise. Coupled with this, the "Thriller Trail" will take place in various venues around Portlaoise, and for those who still want to get into the true spirit of things; the Halloween Howls Festival Club at the end of the day will entertain festival goers into the early hours. Just some of the comedians performing over the weekend include, Ardal O’Hanlon, Jason Byrne, Neil Delamere, PJ Gallagher, Maeve Higgins, Karl Spain, Andrew Maxwell, Barry Murphy, Colin Murphy, Kevin Gildea, and Laois man and artistic festival director Bernard O’ Shea. With what is probably one of the best comedy line-up's at any Irish Festival this year, all of these intimate venues will sell out relatively quickly and early ticket purchase is highly recommended. The festival runs from 24th to 27th October.
