2013 marks a historic occasion in Carlow Town as they commemorate the 800th anniversary of the construction of Carlow Castle. This four - day event celebrates this important milestone with a history conference, an International Taste of Carlow Food and Craft Fair, musical performances, walking tours, a trad trail and a Ballroom of Romance in the former Town Hall Theatre.

22nd - 25th August 2013
Walking tours of Carlow Town - walking tours will feature Carlow Town centre and Carlow's Cultural Quarter, Venue: Carlow Tourist Office, College Street, Carlow at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Free - all welcome.

Pop Up Shop Project
A number of pop up shops will operate in Carlow Town during the Carlow 800 festivities.
Venue: Dublin Street and Tullow Street, Carlow Town Centre.

Carlow by Night
Photographic discovery of Carlow by night by Carlow Photographic Society. Venue: Tullow Street, Carlow. Free - all welcome.

Medieval Floral Exhibition
Venue: St. Mary's Church, Castle Hill, Carlow Individual €5, family €10 - all welcome.

Carlow 800 Concert
A lunch time concert of traditional Irish music in its purest form performed by Carlow musicians.

Music through the Ages
This event of music through the ages will feature Ancient Music of Ireland/Ceol na hÉireann who hail from Connemara.
