Berlin-based producers and live act Booka Shade leapt to the forefront of contemporary dance music in 2005 with their classic singles "Body Language" (with M.A.N.D.Y.) and "Mandarine Girl". Three years later they show no signs of slowing down as 2008 is proving to be a huge year for Arno Kammermeier and Walter Merziger. Since their formative synth-pop days in the early 90s, Booka Shade went on to release records on labels like R&S, Music Man, Tommy Boy  and Harthouse, influenced by the surrounding techno and dance scenes. Their big hits of the 90s include the trance classic “Una musica senza  ritmo” as Degeneration and progressive tracks “Kind of Good” and  “Silk” on Dutch label Touché. By the end of the 90s, they sought a new, more personal outlet for their creative energies, which they found through Get Physical Music in 2002. The highlight of the year has been the long awaited release of their third studio album in May, entitled The Sun & The Neon Light. They are currently delivering their music live and direct to fans on a new world tour, proving themselves to be one of the biggest and most exciting electronic live acts in the world. Booka Shade play a special DJ Set in Tripod on Friday November 27th. Tickets are priced €20.
