Baboró International Arts Festival is all set to open it's doors next month with inspiring performances, engaging exhibitions and interactive workshops to entertain the whole family.

Now in its 17th year, Baboró International Arts Festival for Children and Families will take place from the 14th to the 20th October and this year like every other has a brilliant programme of events to entertain everyone. The programme features exceptional work from Ireland, Scotland, France, Italy, Germany, The Netherlands and the USA. Shows will range from ages 1 to 100 and are created specifically for particular age groups. Young and older audiences alike will be captivated by the very best in theatre, puppetry,music and singing, object and puppet Theatre, Silent Disco, Art Exhibitions, Literature and Illustration and Arts and Science Workshops.

Some of the great companies that will be taking part in the 2013 festival include Collapsing Horse Theatre Company, Abbey Theatre, Frozen Charlotte, Catherine Wheels
Theatre, Theater Papilio
 to name but a few. This year also sees the introduction of the Festival's Relaxed Programme features performances specifically for parents or
teachers who may have concerns about bringing children to a public event. Perfect for parents or teachers who wish to see a show in comfortable and relaxed space for children, and in turn provide a stress-free environment. This year also sees the return of the Above and Beyond Award 2013 created to recognise inspiring individuals,
organisation or communities that create opportunities for children to access the arts

This is only the tip of the iceberg of events taking place over the festival. Baboró's Artistic Director Lali Morris said about this years programme, 'There are so many amazing productions that are being created for young audiences that sometimes it is difficult to select the programme for Baboro. We have an exciting line up this year from Europe, the US and not to mention three fabulous Irish productions. Anyone of these are a must see, even if you don't have a child to accompany you.'
