A.Smyth's new single 'Fever' will be available to download on Friday.

As well as kickstarting 2019 with a brand new single, A.Smyth has announced he will be performing his first headline gig at Whelan's this March.

His Whelan's gig will take place on Thursday, March 14th. Tickets will cost €11.80 inclusive of booking fee, and will be on sale this Wednesday, January 16th at 9am.

'Second Moon', Dubliner Aaron Smyth's breakthrough single from last year, reached 100k Spotfiy streams at the end of last year, and the singer is gearing up for the release of his debut album later in the year.

Have a listen to A.Smyth's 'Fever' below, which includes a nice 'Star Wars' lyrical presentation.

A.Smyth explains his new single, saying "Fever is a song about never giving up on someone you hold dear, or something you believe in...like hope, and the human spirit, they're things that can never be destroyed.

"In today's weird and uncertain times, thinking of that is a huge source of comfort for me. This song is a guide for our darkest moments, a song that says even if the world feels like it's closing in and the odds seem stacked against us - we'll persevere. And the light will always break-through."
