The RTÉ All Ireland Drama Festival is Europe's premier amateur theatrical event and celebrated it's 60th anniversary last year. Run under the auspices of the Amateur Drama Council of Ireland, almost 30 drama groups from all over Ireland will have competed at regional festivals throughout the country. The top nine groups qualify for a place at the finals in Athlone where they will perform over nine nights for the All Ireland Festival Trophy and other major acting and technical awards.
