A Celebration of Irish Whiskey is an exploration of Irish whiskey over the centuries - the music and traditions associated with it, the history of distilling in Co. Cork and the export of Irish whiskey since the early 17th century.

When Sir Walter Raleigh was heading off to America he was given a present of 32 gallons of locally distilled finest Irish whiskey. The present was from Richard Boyle, first Earl of Cork, who noted this in his diary.

The tradition of distilling, the methodology used, the history of the distilling in Co. Cork, the unique flavour of Irish whiskey, the music and folklore surrounding a taste of the 'Irish' will form the background to an exciting conference, a friendly atmosphere and a spirited field trip to get to know Irish whiskey 'up close and personal'.

This is the 11th conference organised by Youghal Celebrates History and visitors are guaranteed a warm welcome, a thought provoking conference and a great weekend.

Special rates in hotels and guesthouses will be offered, and special rates for over 55's apply to the conference package.
