There's theatre, dance, cabaret, musical performances, comedy shows and even boxing and wrestling. Performances are hosted in venues all over Dublin, including the Spiegeltent which will be set up in Merrion Square for the duration of the festival and will host HamsandwicH, Deirdre O'Kane and Jason Byrne amongst others.
Culture Night 2016 takes place on Friday 16th. Now in its 10 year, it sees free cultural events take place all across Ireland, with almost every town having something going on. Museums, art centres and galleries will stay open late, and there will also be free music and theatre performances. To find out what's happening in your area, visit the Culture Night website.
Get your health, fitness and wellness tuned up before the winter hits at the second annual Wellfest, which takes place in Dublin's Herbert Park on the 17th and 18th of September. There is a mix of workshops, cookery demonstrations and talks, with Kathryn Thomas, Bressie and Rox Purcell all lined to present sessions.
IFI Documentary Festival
The IFI Documentary festival is the best way to hide away from the autumn rain and cold. It opens on the 22nd with a screening of Mattress Men, followed by a Q&A with the director. The festival continues throughout the weekend with over a dozen films showing, with a mix of Irish and international productions.
National Ploughing Championships
The Ploughing Championships are Europe's largest outdoor exhibition and agricultural trade show, attracting over 280,000 visitors last year. This year's championships will take place in Screggan, Offaly between the 20th and 22nd. In addition to the farming exhibitions, there is the lifestyle village which will have food, craft and fashion stalls.
