Domhnall Gleeson has revealed that unlike what you’d expect, reading the ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ script did not get him excited but rather filled him with dread. The reason? The fear of spoiling the story for others (and we all know how spoilermania has daunted other casts, most notoriously those of ‘Game of Thrones’) has him on high alert and paranoid.
The Irish actor, who plays General Hux in the latest instalments of the ‘Star Wars’ series, told the Happy Sad Confused podcast “I made the terrible mistake of reading the script, I know everything.”
He continued: “The nightmare is falling asleep on public transport … The nightmare is you wake up on a plane and someone’s dictating. You wake up and your mouth is shaping words, you wake up and you’re like ‘Skywalker did this.’
“And then you realize you don’t know how long you’ve been speaking, and there’s a kid filming, there’s somebody writing it down. And because you’re in the air, you say, ‘We need to have a talk before we land, I can access my bank account.’”
If that’s not nightmarish, we don’t know what is.
In other ‘Episode IX’-related news, the film has officially commenced production as director J.J. Abrams shared a tweet from the set.
There have also been numerous exciting new additions to its cast including ‘The Crown’ star Matt Smith, Dominic Monaghan of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ fame, and Keri Russell.
Returning cast members include Mark Hamill, the late Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, and Billie Lourd.
