What seems interesting about 'Dumbo', compared to other Disney live-action remakes, is that there does appear to be a genuine attempt to tell a new story.

If you recall, the original 'Dumbo' doesn't fly until the very end of the movie and the human characters were almost absent from the whole story. There was also those crows, but that's another thing entirely. Simply put, Tim Burton's take seems to be markedly different and that's only a good thing.

You've also got Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito and Tim Burton together again since 'Batman Returns' and, yes, that young girl does look very like Thandie Newton because she is, in fact, Thandie Newton's daughter.

'Dumbo' hits, or rather flies, to cinemas on March 29th, 2019.
