Ooh, they've got a live one here.

Although it may not have aged all that well - and you can definitely see all the miniatures in it - Tim Burton's Batman is still an epoch in mainstream cinema and demonstrated that comic-book films could not only reach a wide audience, but that they could also have nuance and grit to them. Jack Nicholson famously called his work on Batman as a "piece of pop art", whilst Prince's soundtrack for the film is considered one of the greatest soundtracks ever recorded.

Dublin's IFI is hosting a special 70mm screening on Tuesday, March 28th at 6.20PM with tickets on sale from today. The IFI is home to Ireland's only 70mm projector, with screenings of 2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and The Hateful Eight all taking place there.

It's one of the great, old cinemas of Ireland and to see Jack Nicholson vapourising a guy on the screen with a joy-buzzer is a treat you don't want to miss. Tickets are available from www.ifi.ie/70mm-batman
