We've had live-action remakes of 'The Lion King', 'Aladdin', 'Dumbo' and several other Disney classics. Now, one of the most iconic animations of all is also set to get the live-action treatment.

'Snow White', the very first Disney animated feature - and, indeed, the first full-length cel (i.e. hand-drawn) animated feature ever - is in the works after the huge success of the aforementioned 'The Lion King' and 'Aladdin'. Both broke the $1 billion mark at the global box office, although they drew mixed reviews.

A live-action version of a 'Snow White'-related film was rumoured several years ago, but never came to fruition.

Production on 'Snow White' - which is set to be a musical, as the 1937 original was - is expected to begin in Vancouver next March and Marc Webb ('The Amazing Spider-Man') will direct. The script will be adapted by Erin Cressida Wilson ('The Girl on the Train') and Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (who have written songs for films like 'La La Land' and 'The Greatest Showman') will write brand new music for the film. It'll be interesting to see whether they nod to classic songs from the original, such as 'Heigh-Ho' and 'Whistle While You Work'.

As for who might be cast? Let the speculation begin...
