The first trailer has dropped for ‘Siberia’, starring Keanu Reeves, a movie which is totally not ‘John Wick’…

Ok, so maybe it’s a little like ‘John Wick’ but we need something to watch between now and ‘John Wick: Chapter 3’ (which will be released on May 17, 2019) in any case, right?

The film is directed by Matthew Ross (‘Frank & Lola’) from a story by Stephen Hamel (an exec producer on ‘John Wick’). Novelist and Oscar nominee of ‘A Simple Plan’, Scott Smith, is penning the screenplay.

With supporting cast including Ana Ularu, Pasha D. Lychnikoff and Molly Ringwald, ‘Siberia’ is a romantic crime thriller which follows an American diamond merchant (Reeves) who travels to Russia to sell rare blue diamonds of questionable origin.

He ventures into a small Siberian town where he falls into an obsessive relationship with a Russian cafe owner (Ularu). The hazardous world of the diamond trade starts to close in as, once again, Reeves' character finds himself facing off with a big shot of the Russian underworld (Lychnikoff).

Keanu Reeves also recently featured in the trailer for ‘Destination Wedding’, a romantic comedy which sees him reunited with his ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’ co-star Winona Ryder.

He is also working on the threequel of the Bill & Ted franchise, which is called ‘Bill & Ted Face the Music.’

‘Siberia’ is scheduled to be released on July 13, 2018.
