The third installment in the John Wick franchise may just be its best one yet.
We’re big fans of both John Wick and John Wick Chapter 2 here at Entertainment.ie (chatting about it on our Filum show podcast on pretty much a weekly basis at this point) so the news of new cast additions and returning characters to Keanu Reeves’ third outing as the deadly assassin has us unreasonably excited.
The biggest new name to be added to the cast is Halle Berry, who revealed on Instagram that she’ll be playing a character named Sofia. After John tragically lost his wife in the first film, could she be a potential romantic interest?
On Twitter, it was revealed that Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane and Lance Reddick are reprising their roles for Chapter 3.

Anjelica Huston has joined the film as a figure known as The Director.
Other newcomers include Asia Kate Dillon (best-known for playing Brandy Epps in Orange Is the New Black), Jason Mantzoukas (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks and Recreation), Mark Dacascos (Giyera in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), The Raid 2 actors Yayan Ruhian and Cecep Arif Rahman, and Tiger Hu Chen. Chen, like John Wick franchise director Chad Stahelski, worked in the stunts department on the Matrix movies.
The addition of martial artist actors in the latter four means our hopes are high for John Wick 3: Parabellum’s (working title) action sequences.
Previously, the plot synopsis of John Wick 3 was revealed. It arrives in cinemas on May 17th next year.
